Privacy policy

Effective 2026-09-03 · Applies to the Centa app for iOS and Android and to this website.

The short version
  • Centa has no accounts and no servers of its own. Your financial data is stored only on your device.
  • We do not collect, transmit, sell or share your transactions, balances, budgets or goals.
  • The only third parties are Apple, Google and RevenueCat, and only when you buy Centa Pro.
  • Deleting the app deletes your data. Backups exist only where you choose to save them.

1. Who we are

Centa is published by Jheremiah Figueroa, Block 5 Lot 58 Tambakol Street, Caloocan City, Metro Manila, Philippines. If you have any question about this policy, email figueroa.jheremiah@gmail.com.

2. What the app stores, and where

Everything you enter in Centa is written to a local database on your phone: accounts and balances, transactions, budget envelopes, bills, goals, quick-log buttons, your pay cycle and settings. Home screen widgets read a small, pre-computed snapshot of that data on the same device. None of it is uploaded anywhere by us.

Centa does not ask for your name, email address, phone number or any identifier. There is nothing to sign up for.

3. What we collect

Nothing directly. Centa includes no analytics, no advertising SDKs and no crash reporting. We cannot see how you use the app.

If you contact us by email or through the form on this website, we receive what you send (your email address and message) and use it only to reply.

4. Third parties

WhoWhenWhat they process
Apple App Store / Google PlayWhen you download the app or buy Centa ProYour store account and payment, under their own policies. We never see your payment details.
RevenueCatWhen you buy or restore Centa ProAn anonymous app-generated identifier, the purchase receipt, device type and app version, to confirm that the purchase is valid. See the RevenueCat privacy policy.
Plausible (this website only, if enabled)When you visit this websiteCookieless, aggregate page-view counts. No personal data, no cross-site tracking.

5. Permissions the app may ask for

  • Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint, only if you turn on App Lock. Biometric data never leaves your device's secure hardware; Centa only receives a yes or no.
  • Notifications, only if you enable bill reminders or payday alerts. These are scheduled locally on the device.
  • Files, only when you export a backup or CSV, or restore a backup, to the location you pick.

Centa does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, SMS or other apps.

6. Backups

You can export your data as an encrypted backup file. It is encrypted on your device with a passphrase that only you know, using AES-256-GCM with a key derived by scrypt. We cannot open it and cannot recover your passphrase. Where you store the file (your phone, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, a computer) is your choice and is governed by that service's policy. CSV exports are not encrypted; treat them like any spreadsheet.

7. Deleting your data

Because there is no account, deletion is entirely in your hands: uninstall Centa, or clear its storage in your phone's app settings. Both remove the local database, the widget snapshots and any settings. Delete any backup files you exported separately. There is nothing for us to delete on our side.

8. Children

Centa is a personal finance tool intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13, or under the age of digital consent in your country. We do not knowingly collect information from children; since Centa collects no personal information at all, none is retained.

9. Your rights

Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) and, where applicable, the GDPR and similar laws, you have rights to access, correct, delete and port your personal data, and to object to processing. Because Centa keeps your data only on your device, you exercise these rights directly in the app: view and edit anything, export a CSV or backup, or delete the app. For anything relating to email you have sent us, write to figueroa.jheremiah@gmail.com and we will act within 30 days.

10. Security

Data is stored in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. App Lock adds biometric protection. Backups are encrypted as described above. No system is perfectly secure; keep your phone updated and your passphrase private.

11. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and, for material changes, note it in the app's release notes. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
