release notes
What's new
Version 1.1 · September 2026
- Choose your currency; it starts from your phone's region.
- New pay schedule: every two weeks.
- Simpler widgets: Safe to Spend, Quick Add, Add Expense, Upcoming, Budgets and Savings.
- Clearer screens: quick add is always on Home, settings are grouped, and adding an expense asks only what matters.
- Fixed: amounts typed with a comma as the decimal point (12,50) are now read correctly.
Any currency
Dollars, euros, pounds, yen, pesos, rupees and 40 more, written the way your country writes numbers. On a new install Centa picks the currency of your phone's region; if you already use Centa, your currency stays as it was. You can change it any time in Settings.
Paid every two weeks
Centa now handles four pay schedules: monthly, every two weeks, twice a month and weekly. Your budget still runs from one payday to the next, not from the 1st of the month.
Six widgets, each with one job
The widget set is smaller and clearer. Here is where each old widget went:
| Before | Now |
|---|---|
| Safe to Spend | Safe to Spend, with quick-add buttons. Also on the iPhone Lock Screen. |
| Payday and Bills | Upcoming: days to payday, what is left per day, and your next bills, in one widget. |
| Quick Log | Quick Add: up to 8 of your own buttons, like Coffee or Lunch. |
| Lock Screen + | Add Expense: a + that opens straight to a new expense. On the iPhone Lock Screen, and now also as a 1×1 widget on Android. |
| Envelopes | Budgets: your busiest budgets, with a pause button. |
| Ipon | Savings: one goal, with buttons to add money. |
| Balances | Removed. Your balances are on Home. |
| Within plan | Removed. Your no-spend day shows on Home. |
| Pace | Removed. Your pace is on Home and Plan. |
| Wishlist | Removed. The wishlist is in Settings → tools. |
If you had one of the removed widgets on your home screen, long-press it to remove it, then add one of the new ones. How to add widgets.
Plain English
Envelopes are now budgets, ipon is now savings, and every screen uses the same words. The Filipino language option has been removed; Centa is in English only.
Fixed
Amounts typed with a comma as the decimal point, such as 12,50, are now read as twelve and a half instead of twelve hundred and fifty.
