Adding widgets

Centa has six widgets: Safe to Spend, Quick Add, Add Expense, Upcoming, Budgets and Savings. In the app, Settings → widgets shows each one and lets you choose your Quick Add buttons.

iPhone home screen: long-press an empty spot on the home screen, tap Edit → Add Widget, search for Centa, pick a widget and size, then tap Add Widget.
iPhone Lock Screen: long-press the Lock Screen, tap Customize → Lock Screen, tap the widget area and choose Safe to Spend or Add Expense from Centa.
Android: long-press an empty spot on the home screen, tap Widgets, find Centa, then drag a widget onto the home screen.

Common fixes

The widget is not updating

Open Centa once; it refreshes every widget on launch. On some Android phones (Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, Realme) battery optimisation stops background work: in your phone's settings, set Centa to "No restrictions" or "Allow background activity". On iPhone, widgets refresh on a schedule the system controls; opening the app forces it.

A widget tap did not appear in Activity

Taps are queued and processed within seconds in the background, or the moment you open the app. If the app was force-closed, open it once and the queue is processed.

Getting Centa on a new phone

Download Centa again from the App Store or Google Play, signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account you bought it with; there is no charge the second time. Your data does not move by itself: on the old phone, open Settings → backup & export and save an encrypted backup, then restore it from the same place on the new phone with your passphrase.

I forgot my backup passphrase

The backup cannot be opened without it, by anyone. Start fresh and export a new backup with a passphrase you will remember.

Deleting your data

Centa has no accounts, so there is nothing to delete on our side. To remove everything: uninstall the app, or open your phone's app settings for Centa and clear its storage. Both remove the local database, widget data and settings. Delete any backup or CSV files you exported yourself.
